This is not a book about doing more. It’s about understanding what’s been driving your success and quietly making it unsustainable.

The Question This Book Asks
You work hard. You get results. You’ve built something worth being proud of.
But you’ve also noticed something: maintaining what you’ve created takes more out of you than it should. And the thought of growing further brings as much dread as it does excitement.
What if that’s not a sign you need to push harder?
What if it’s a sign that something underneath the surface has been running your decisions for years, and it’s time to look at it?
That’s the question at the center of this book.

Both gauges pegged. The cost of running at peak quietly catching up with the performance.
The Invisible Edge is a leadership fable. Five fictional business owners, a small group coaching mastermind, and the hidden beliefs each of them has been carrying since long before they were in any leadership role. Each of them is about to find out what it’s been costing them.
About the Author
I’m Angela Belford. I’m an executive coach, speaker, and business owner, and I’ve spent more than two decades helping leaders and family business owners go from good to great.
I bought my first business in 1999, and I’ve been in the trenches of real business ever since. In 2008, I rebranded as The Belford Group when we expanded into marketing services, which means what I teach comes with both methodology and street cred that goes back over 25 years. I’ve written two other books before this one, Traveling Light and Be Freaking Awesome. When I’m not working, I’m probably being called Lala by my grandchildren or traveling somewhere I’ve been meaning to go.
I wrote The Invisible Edge because I kept watching the same thing happen with the leaders I work with. They had the strategy. They had the mindset. And something was still in the way. This book is my attempt to name what that something is, in a way you can feel rather than just read.
